This programme is designed for learners who already have a practical driving test booked
but are struggling to find an instructor, need a tuition vehicle, or want an honest
professional opinion before test day.

Suitable For

  • Learners with a practical driving test already booked
  • Learners who have been practising privately
  • Learners moving from another instructor
  • Learners who need a clear test preparation plan
  • International Licence Holders

Manual & Automatic Lessons

We may be able to help with both manual and automatic driving assessments,
subject to instructor availability in your local area.

Important: A minimum of 10 days must remain between your assessment lesson and your practical driving test.
How the Assessment Works

The assessment is designed to give you clear, honest feedback and a realistic plan before your driving test.

Book Your Assessment

Book a 2-hour assessment lesson for £100. Payment is required in advance to secure your appointment.

Driving Standard Check

Your instructor will assess your driving against the standard expected on the practical driving test.

Personal Lesson Plan

We will advise whether you are test ready and recommend the right lesson plan before your test.

What We Assess During the Lesson

Your instructor will look at the key skills needed to drive safely and meet the required practical test standard.

Observations

Mirror use, blind spots, awareness, planning and hazard response.

Control

Steering, gears, clutch control, braking, speed and vehicle handling.

Road Position

Lane discipline, junction positioning, roundabouts and meeting traffic.

Manoeuvres

Accuracy, control, observations and safe decision making.

Independent Driving

Following road signs, sat nav directions and making safe choices.

Risk Awareness

How you respond to developing hazards and changing road situations.

Test Readiness

Whether your current driving is close to practical test standard.

Training Plan

A recommended plan for lessons leading up to your test date.

What Happens After the Assessment?

After the lesson, your instructor will explain whether you are ready or whether more preparation is needed.

If You Are Test Ready

If your instructor believes you are driving at or close to test standard,
a personalised plan can be agreed. Lessons may then be booked leading up to your driving test,
subject to instructor availability.

Use of a GP Driving School vehicle for the practical test may be offered only if the instructor
is satisfied that you are safe and ready.

If You Are Not Yet Test Ready

If your driving is not yet at the required standard, we will explain this clearly and honestly.
You will receive guidance on the areas that need improvement and the recommended number of lessons needed.

Our aim is to help you become a safe, confident driver not simply take you to test before you are ready.
